Partnerships are best understood on the ground. During her recent visit, Tejaswini Vavilala, Project Director at Sphoorti Foundation, spent time at our Vajreshwari center and the Hi 5 office in Mumbai, engaging with the program.
Our partnership with Sphoorti Foundation, which began in 2022, is built on a shared commitment to supporting children through sport and structured development.
At Vajreshwari, she interacted with players, observed training sessions, and experienced the training environment firsthand. This interaction was an opportunity to reconnect with the work being carried out across Hi 5 centers and engage more closely with the program on the ground.
During Intra Hi 5 Nationals, Sphoorti Foundation supports our teams by providing food and accommodation for children, coaches, and staff—ensuring a comfortable environment throughout the tournament.
Through the Hi 5 program, students benefit from consistent training, access to competitive platforms like Intra Hi 5, and a structured environment that supports their overall growth. This includes aspects such as discipline, routine, and exposure—elements that contribute to both their athletic and personal development.
Reflections from Tejaswini Vavilala
“It was a beautiful visit. This was the first time I visited a campus outside of Andhra and Telangana. Many of the kids were extremely enthusiastic. I really liked their commitment towards basketball, and they even showed me a demo of how they play.
As one of the partners, we have seen tremendous changes in the children’s health and how they feel about themselves. There is a lot more discipline that has come in—waking up early, practicing regularly, and genuinely looking forward to these sessions has made a big difference.
Both the physical and mental aspects have been supported beautifully through this partnership. We have also seen fewer medical expenses, and many of the children are growing well—they are becoming taller and healthier, especially the girls.
It is very important to have a long-term partnership, and we are extremely fortunate to have Hi 5. This is not just a one-time engagement. With Hi 5, we have collaborated across multiple stages, and we are really looking forward to expanding into more programs together.”
This visit reaffirmed the strength of the partnership and the shared vision of creating meaningful opportunities for children through sport.
