Pure joy and competitive spirit took over the court during the U-14 tip-off, as teams across the region transformed the court into a stage for talent, growth, and sportsmanship.

With over 120 teams and 900 children, Intra Hi 5 League provides a platform for children in categories ranging from U12 to open to gain real tournament exposure. The intention of the tournament is to make sure that every single athlete gets to compete, giving them valuable experience they need to grow through every play.

Without the platform and opportunity provided by Hi 5, many of these children would have been exposed to a very different reality. Instead of competing on the court, they might have been forced into the workforce at a young age to support their families, losing their childhood to the cycle of labor and hardship. Basketball has opened doors to the world that they would not have otherwise seen, giving them a chance to dream and achieve rather than just survive.

In every game in the Intra Hi 5 League, we teach our children to identify the “why” behind every outcome, encouraging them to recognize the factors behind their success and identifying areas where their strategy can improve.

This acts as a training ground to prepare for external competitions, as for students, it increases presence and involvement.

The league concludes at the Intra Hi 5 Nationals, where teams from 8 states join a full-day, intense event honoring progress, competition, and unity.

In the National Level Intra Hi 5 League, children gain a deep sense of pride representing their region or state, especially in a society where underprivileged children often feel invisible.

The League also helps students to learn and grow by giving them chances to build important life skills. Through activities and roles like team helpers or junior leaders, students can learn responsibility, teamwork, and confidence. These experiences help them grow, try new things, and prepare for the future.

At Hi 5, the Circle of Life starts on the court, where students learn and enjoy the game.

As they grow, they get chances to take on small leadership roles, like helping teammates or supporting activities. In this way, they begin to share important values like teamwork, discipline, and never giving up with other young players.

Spanning 8 states with 120+ teams and hundreds of young athletes across various age groups, what began in 2017 as an internal tournament has evolved into a massive structured league. It has grown from its local courts into a multi-state competitive platform that continues to expand its reach and impact every year.

This year marks the 8th season of Intra Hi 5 League, a competition that begins at the regional level with local teams competing with each other. Winners from these regions move up to the state level as they work their way towards the national level. Across 35 centers in 8 states, this league gives children a chance to learn skills like discipline and teamwork through high-level competition.

The Intra Hi 5 Regionals tipped off in Tamil Nadu & Andhra Pradesh from September 28 to 30, 2025, at Sevalaya’s Kasuva center. The competition continued in West Bengal from November 8-10, 2025, hosted by Parivaar, followed by the Maharashtra League on November 14, 2025. The National Championship was held on February 22, 2026, in Telangana, bringing together the top teams to compete against each other.

The U14 Intra Hi 5 league welcomed Sphoorti Foundation, a partner of Hi 5, including Founder & Chairman Srivyal Vuyyuri and Director Tejaswini Vavilala. They showed a shared commitment to youth empowerment and the continued development of underprivileged children.

The Intra Hi 5 League is about far more than the final score—it’s about the journey. By traveling to new states and playing in unfamiliar environments, our children get to explore a world.

Meeting and playing alongside teammates from different cultures helps our students learn from one another and build lifelong friendships, helping them grow as individuals, not just as athletes.
