Mumbai –2019-20
We had one of our best seasons yet in Mumbai in terms of numbers of kids enrolled and tournaments won. We had a total of 1653 active students as of March 2020 in our ‘Hope Thru Hoops’ program in Mumbai.
Highlights for 2019-20
- Provided direct financial support to 500+ families for Covid-19
- Started our new program “Pathways to Success”
- Started a new centre at K. D. Gaikwad BMC School, Sion-Koliwada
- The founders of Hi 5 Youth Foundation (Mr. R.Sundar & Mrs. Usha Sundar) were honored & acknowledged at the Indian Super League (Click to watch the video)
- Yogesh, Anjali & Suraj get selected for the Jr. NBA Mumbai All-Star Team
- Prachi Tehlan visits our Motilal Nagar Centre
- Suraj went for State trials
- Hi 5 Youth Foundation is extensively featured in NBA India’s premier coffee-table book called ‘Home Court’ which was released in October 2019
- Hi 5 children attended the first ever NBA India games in Mumbai on October 4th, 2019
- International Visitors – Ravi Padmanabhan (Hi5 USA Board Member), Sneha, Shital, Elyse, Payal Doshi, Denis Moreira & Barry and our star volunteer Suhail
- Second batch of tribal children enrolled in Mumbai college
- Hi 5’s new office was inaugurated in July
