Program Level's
In Beginner level coaches focus more on individual skills of the student. This is where the student learns to develop himself as an individual player. Most of the practice time at this level is devoted to basic skills, such as dribbling, passing, rebounding, and shooting. Students are taught simple screens and give-and-go plays. Learning all fundamental and basic basketball-specific skills, establish building blocks for overall basketball skills. Children are tested 2-3 times in a year. Children are measured and evaluated after each test. Based on the skills gained they are graduated to the next level.
In Intermediate level coaches focus on team play drills. Student expand onto more advanced skills. Students are taught to play in organized manner. They learn fundamental movement skills and build overall motor skills. Skills and drills such as footwork, body control, off court training, team defense and offense are some of the highlights of this level. Coaches teach position concepts, but do not assign player positions at any point in the level. Students are exposed to few open tournaments outside school and our own Intra Hi 5 tournaments during the year.
In Advanced level, we teach students how to finish the game and win it strategically. Students learn to understand how to handle different game time situations that arise. Coaches carry out team building activities to promote creativity, better communication, teamwork and networking.
This is the highest-level of playing and coaching resources. We focus on holistic development of the player. Holistic development focuses on four aspects of the player – psychological, physical, tactical & technical. It maximizes fitness and competition preparation as well as individual and position-specific skills.
